A Guided Journey Through Food Forests, Natural Systems & Living Design

Embark on a journey through time, nature, and living design at The Living Centre, home to one of Canada’s oldest forest gardens, established in the early 1980’s. For over 45 years, this land has served as a living classroom for permaculture, natural building, ecological learning, and land-based regeneration.

This guided tour invites you to walk through a thriving landscape shaped by decades of care, observation, and a deep relationship with the place. Along the way, you’ll explore food forests, water wisdom, biodiversity, community design, and five natural buildings, including the passive Earthship Greenhouse, Cordwood building, and Strawbale Studio.

You’ll also wander the 1-kilometre native plant trail, encountering three ponds, three wetlands, and over 1000 edible, medicinal, and native plants woven throughout the land.

More than a tour, this is an inspiring walk through decades of regeneration, resilience, and living systems, where earth-care, people-care, and care for the future come alive in practice. From our one-hectare forest garden farmacy to a micro-mushroom farm and organic bee village, each evening offers tailored insights into diverse subjects. Join us for an unforgettable sustainable living experience, whether for a single evening or to witness the ever-changing beauty of the seasons.
