Discover nature’s essential Permaculture plants. This practical experience of Carolinian Canada’s edible plants will cover where to find them, when and how to forage ethically, and ways to prepare them deliciously.

Weeds of Wonder

In this hands-on workshop, we will explore the local environment and learn about wild foods that grow in our area. The workshop will teach us about the art of foraging, enabling us to appreciate nature’s renewable resources and reinforce our commitment to preserving and rebuilding our ecological treasures.

Includes all workshop materials, handouts, and charts.

All lunches will be potluck style, using as many organic, local, wild, live-food, and plant-based ingredients as possible. The centre will provide organic in-season soups, salads, herbal teas and snacks.

It does not include taxes, accommodations or travel.

A variety of healthy dishes including a bowl of lentil curry with a lemon half, a kale salad with avocado and a flower garnish, roasted vegetables, a green smoothie, grilled asparagus, and a salad with a fried egg on top, displayed on a wooden surface with a floral tablecloth.

Shantree Kacera

Shantree Kacera, R.H., D.N., Ph.D., an international author and teacher, co-directs The Living Centre Eco-Spiritual Education Sanctuary since 1983. With a doctorate in Nutritional Medicine and Herbalism, Shantree pioneers integrative approaches to Ayurvedic Medicine, Living Nutrition, and Herbalism. Recognized as a Herbal elder by the Canadian Council of Herbalist Association.

A passionate curator, mentor, and Earth advocate, Shantree focuses on \Energetic Herbalism, Ayurvedic Living Nutrition, and forest gardening. With over 45 years of teaching experience, he integrates herbalism, plant medicine, and forest gardening with scientific insights for a regenerative and evolved future.
