“Every mark on the tongue tells a story; every story is an invitation to understand the body’s own intelligence.”
A New Book in the Creative Flow – and an Update on Ayurvedic Tongue Diagnosis
I want to share a little about why I have decided to change the start date of the upcoming Ayurvedic Tongue Diagnosis course, and what this means for anyone who has been considering joining. Over the years, since I wrote my first book, I’ve learned that timing, preparation, and clarity matter just as much as the knowledge itself. My goal has always been to give people the fullest, most meaningful experience possible. With a little more time, I feel I can make this course even richer, more practical, and more connected to real-life experience.
When I first began studying Ayurveda and later working with patients in my clinic, I was fascinated by how much the body communicates without words. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with more than 47,000 patients, and nearly every one of them has taught me something profound about the intelligence of the body. One of the most remarkable tools I’ve come to rely on is the tongue. Its color, texture, coating, and even subtle cracks can reveal stories that the patient themselves may not yet understand.
I remember a woman who came to me tired, irritable, and struggling with digestion. Her tongue showed signs of deep imbalance, and as we explored diet, routine, and daily awareness together, she began to notice small but meaningful shifts. Within weeks, her energy stabilized, her sleep improved, and she felt more aligned in her body than she had in years. Moments like these are why I am so passionate about teaching tongue diagnosis. It is a simple yet profound way to connect with the body’s own wisdom.
With the updated course, I want to share these insights in a hands-on, fully immersive way. We will spend time observing, discussing, and practicing together, so that you not only learn to read the signs of the tongue but also understand what they mean in everyday life. I want participants to walk away feeling confident and empowered, able to integrate this knowledge into their own routines, their family’s health, or their professional practice.
Alongside the tongue diagnosis course, I’ve developed the Elemental Insights introductory programs. Over the years, I’ve seen how the five elements, Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether, shape our energy, our health, and even the way we move through life. These programs are designed to help you feel the elements in your body and the world around you, recognize how they influence your moods, your energy, and your physical state, and learn simple practices to harmonize with them. One of the most beautiful parts of teaching these programs is watching someone begin to sense the elements within themselves, notice the subtle rhythms of nature in their daily life, and use that awareness to create more balance and vitality.
These programs are not just about learning a system; they are about rediscovering a relationship with your body and the natural world. Early in my practice, learning to see the tongue as a map of the inner terrain also taught me how deeply connected we are to the elements around us. That awareness changed the way I approached health, diet, and life itself, and it is that perspective I hope to share with everyone who joins these courses.
By adjusting the start date and including these enhancements, I feel I can offer a fuller, more intentional experience. Every part of these programs—from observing the tongue to exploring elemental energies to learning practical applications—is designed to guide you toward a deeper understanding of yourself and your life-force. This is a journey that asks for curiosity, attention, and openness, and it rewards those qualities with clarity, insight, and a sense of alignment that I have seen transform the lives of countless people over decades of practice.
I am deeply grateful for your patience and for your willingness to listen to what your body and the elements are telling you. I am excited to share this journey with you, and I hope that when the new dates arrive, you will join me in discovering the intelligence of your own body and the living wisdom of the elements that surround us.

Case Study:
From Fatigue to Flow: How Tongue Diagnosis Revealed the Path Back to Vitality
Several years ago, a man in his late 40s, let’s call him David, came into my clinic. He looked exhausted before he even sat down. His shoulders slumped, his eyes were slightly puffy with a dull sheen, and his skin tone had a pale, almost grey cast.
He explained that he was running a small business while trying to be present for his teenage children. Most of his meals were eaten standing in the kitchen or his car between meetings. He relied on strong coffee to get through the mornings and late evenings, and his diet leaned heavily toward bread, cheese, and take-out pasta.
Presenting symptoms:
Persistent fatigue that no amount of rest seemed to fix.
Mental fog and forgetfulness, especially in the afternoon.
Bloating and heaviness after meals.
Irritable and a short fuse with his family.
Restless sleep, waking between 2–3 a.m. almost every night.
When I asked him to show me his tongue, several patterns stood out immediately:
A thick, pasty white coating toward the back, indicating accumulated ama (toxins) in the digestive tract.
Swollen edges with visible teeth marks, suggesting poor absorption and low digestive fire (agni).
A deep central crack running from the middle toward the tip—often linked to chronic digestive stress and depletion of the nervous system.
A slightly pale body colour, pointing to weakened blood and prana (life-force).
From an Ayurvedic lens, his constitution (prakruti) leaned toward Kapha-Pitta, but his current imbalance (vikruti) showed clear signs of aggravated Kapha with underlying Vata depletion.
The initial plan was simple but strategic:
Morning routine reset: Warm water with a few slices of fresh ginger upon waking to kindle digestion.
Meal timing: Shifting his largest meal to midday when digestion is strongest, and keeping dinner light and warm—such as vegetable soups or kitchari.
Mindful eating: Sitting down for meals without screens, chewing thoroughly, and stopping before he felt “full.”
Daily breathing practice: 5 minutes of nadi shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) before work to settle the mind and balance energy.
Tongue scraping each morning to remove overnight coating and stimulate the digestive system.
Follow-up at two weeks:
David’s tongue coating had already thinned by almost 40%. The swelling on the edges had reduced slightly. He reported fewer afternoon crashes, and his family noticed he seemed calmer in the evenings. His digestion felt lighter, and he was waking with a bit more energy.
At one month:
The white coating had reduced to a thin, almost translucent layer. The central crack was still present (these take longer to shift), but looked less inflamed. His sleep had improved, still waking once, but falling back asleep quickly. His irritability had decreased, and he’d started taking short evening walks after dinner, which he said “felt like medicine.”
At three months:
David’s tongue showed a clear, healthy pink colour with only a light coating after mornings with heavier dinners. The swelling had disappeared, and the teeth marks were faint. His central crack remained but was less deep, and the tissue around it looked stronger. Most importantly, David said, “I don’t feel like I’m dragging myself through the day anymore. I feel like I’m back in the driver’s seat of my own life.”
The beauty of this case is that David could see his healing process in real time. The tongue became both a mirror and a motivator—proof that his daily choices were tangibly reshaping his health from the inside out.
