The Wisdom of the Heart

Did you know that there is a wisdom, an intelligence and knowing that can only be accessed from the heart? Much research is being done these days that shows why and how heart intelligence works. Research shows that by focusing on the heart area and activating core heart feelings such as love, appreciation and care that this focus can immediately change the rhythm of the heart. “When the rhythms become more coherent, a cascade of neural and biochemical events begins that affects virtually every organ in the body“. The Heartmath Solution, Doc Childre.

Core heart feelings have a positive effect on our nervous system and reduce the production of the stress hormone cortisol. Developing ‘coherance’ between heart and mind, not only affects the health of our physical body. It also brings balance and clarity to our mental and emotional bodies.  But, the most important thing is that it keeps you connected with your Truth. The Truth that is beyond inherited beliefs and systems, into the core Truth of your inner Self.

Staying connected with our ‘hearts truths’ is vital in a world that is escalating in speed, demands and fear. Yet how do we do this in a world that reveres the ‘mind’ as the main source of intelligence?  How do we learn to trust the deep inner wisdom of our hearts?

I would like to share with you a simple, yet powerful breath process that you can do anywhere, and, with practice will transform your life – guaranteed.

Sit quietly, bring your attention to your physical heart. You may wish to place a hand over your heart to help focus your attention there. Now, tune into your breath and your heartbeat. Imagine that you are breathing into your heart. Each breath in bringing clear, clean energy into your heart, and every breath out is sending that energy to every cell in your body. Imagine that you are literally living from your heart. See if you can feel the difference when you live from your heart, rather than from your head.  That’s it!

Don’t be fooled by the simplicity of this breath process. It truly is powerful and will allow you to stay in touch with and access what is truly true for you. Our minds can trick and fool us, but our hearts NEVER lies.

Practice this breath anywhere. It is particularly useful when having a discussion with someone, if you are in an irritating situation – like caught in traffic or when you want to calm down or during meditation.

In Joy and Peace,
