Reflections from the Sacred Village Woman’s Festival

I’ve just returned from the Sacred Village Woman’s Festival in Port Dover, Ontario - an extraordinary gathering of 250 women who came together in celebration of the Sacred Feminine and our living relationship with Mother Earth. I was deeply honoured to be invited as an elder to share my wisdom at this potent time in our collective journey.
At 75 years old, with 55 years walking the path of Earth Wisdom, I felt deeply received and celebrated in my elderhood. It is no small thing to be acknowledged in this way, held in reverence for the life lived, the love given, and the truths carried.
My offering was on the theme of Sacred Union. An invitation to remember that we are not separate from this world, but wholly interwoven with the five Sacred Elements: Air, Fire, Water, Earth, and Ether. With around 70 women gathered in ritual space, I guided an Elemental Sound Journey and Primordial Wave Movement session, a descent into the body as temple and as Earth. Together, we explored what it means to embody ecological consciousness, to feel our kinship with the elements not as concept, but as visceral knowing.
The energy that moved through us was potent. These women came open, courageous, and ready for transformation. It was a powerful moment of reclamation and deep remembering.
The festival itself was a beautifully curated space of creativity and healing. Each guide brought forth offerings that touched on the many aspects of what it means to be woman in this time - addressing the loss, the longing, the strength, and the brilliance that lives within us all. Together, we made room for joy, for grief, for play, and for renewal.
I was especially moved by the organizers’ intention to honour elder wisdom throughout the gathering. In a world that too often forgets the value of lived experience, this was a powerful act of cultural healing. We need each other, all generations, all stages of life, coming together to co-create a future that is rooted in remembrance, reciprocity, and reverence.
We are living through a profound time of transformation. As we walk forward, may we do so with kindness, with generosity of spirit, and with a fierce commitment to joy as a sacred expression. Let us heal the wound of separation consciousness - within ourselves, with each other, and with the Earth.
The New Earth is not a distant vision. It is emerging now, through each one of us, in every act of love, justice, and peace.
