Light on the Crisis: Emerging Radiance

Shantree Kacera., R.H., D.N., Ph.D.

Yes, we are now standing at a crossroads. We must decide which path to take. How do we want the future living conditions for all living species to be?”

There is a crisis occurring on the planet today – from COVID-19 to the economic uncertainty and the climate chaos that is before us. Even though it seems we are in a difficult situation today. There is a cultural shift occurring in people’s minds and hearts. This situation makes folks look deep within, reflect, and ask what is essential in their life. This reflection time is to see where the light takes us forward into the future. A future that is desired by each of us to create and live in.

The sun will appear in all its Radiance and fill the world with light. That takes all those into itself, outshining them in brightness and glory. We have choices to make from this moment onward. What will it be? How will we shine in all full Radiance? What will it take to shine and see the path before us?

“In the beginning, when ray and day hadn’t yet come into existence, a kind of Radiance illuminated the universe. Radiance is the light of knowledge and goodness. That Radiance will persistently and consistently shine brightly even after all the stars and moons in this vast universe died out.”
~Toba Beta, My Ancestor Was an Ancient Astronaut

What does Radiance mean?
Radiance is glowing from a light source like the sun or a healthy, beaming person. The sun radiates light, and bright objects that give off light rays have a quality called Radiance. The sun’s Radiance can be felt the strongest in the afternoon.

There is one thing that gives radiance to everything: the idea of something around the corner. To shine brightly, we must see the changes we must make for ourselves, our community, and the world around us. Deep inside, we know our landscape is changing; we need to return to wholeness and play by the rules of nature.

“We can’t save the world by playing by the rules, because the rules have to be changed. Everything needs to change – and it has to start today.”
~Greta Thunberg

Emerging Culture
There is a culturing taking place at this moment as our world turns. A new culture from within is arising. As has been said many times in the last few weeks, our society will not be the same after this epidemic has passed; our economic paradigm will change. There is an emerging culture taking place—are you listening?

“We cannot solve a crisis without treating it as a crisis. And if solutions within the system are so impossible to find, then maybe we should change the system itself.”

The first step—especially for young people with energy, drive, talent, but not money—to controlling your world is to manage your culture, to model and demonstrate the kind of world you demand to live in. This first step is shifting our landscape to Radiance.

We must never forget that culture does not make people. People make culture.

Stoking Your Agni – Celebrate Your Inner Radiance
It is a time to allow our inner Radiance to shine like a candle in the darkness, reminding us that there will be light again when spring arrives. A term used in Ayurvedic medicine is agni.

Agni represents the fire element and involves everything related to transformation. The main functions of agni are absorption and conversion of nourishment and sensations into energy since everything we take in is to obtain energy.

To activate a culture shift, we need to see clearly, which is why activating our inner fire, ‘Agni,’ is essential. The Ayurvedic concept of light, or agni, is critically important to our health. Agni is the force of intelligence within each cell, tissue, and system within the body. Ultimately, the discernment of agni determines which substances enter our cells and tissues and which substances should be removed as waste. In this way, agni is the gatekeeper of life.

Understanding the diverse functions of agni invites us to cultivate a deeper appreciation for the power of this life-giving energy in our lives. In truth, developing reverence and respect for our agni and learning to care for it properly is among the soundest investments we can make in our overall health and well-being.

Radiance comes from the inner fire, which then goes forth and creates the world around us. Now is the time to stoke your inner fire. To move through this epidemic, our economic uncertainty, to the climate chaos happening, we need our fire. Our agni to be ignited to new possibilities to unleash our power of imagination.
