Energetic Herbalism: The Language of Plants (Online 4-Week Series)

Ecological Herbalism is an approach to herbal practice that involves understanding the natural processes unfolding in wild areas and how plant communities interact with each other and their environment. By embracing this perspective, herbalists and plant observers can gain insights into how plant communities function as medicines.

July 3 - 24, 2024

This interdisciplinary approach includes learning about the plants around us, recognizing the value of healthy native plant communities, and allowing that wisdom to guide our relationship with plants. When we understand the landscape dynamics around us, it affects the way we practice as herbalists. We can read changes in the land, which helps us be aware of how plant communities are changing and how they work as medicines.

Plant medicine has ecological roots and is ideal for those interested in exploring and deepening their knowledge of herbalism. It is especially helpful for those who wish to learn how to care for their families naturally and want to pursue herbalism as a profession. This workshop is an introduction to the fascinating world of plants and their medicinal uses. It provides a comprehensive study of herbalism, including an in-depth understanding of medicinal plants and their uses for different body systems. By attending this workshop, you will gain valuable knowledge and experience that can be used to assist your family and friends in holistic health applications.

Our planet’s health, communities, and bodies are inextricably connected. The first step is to approach plant medicine from an ecological perspective, cultivating a regenerative practice that focuses on our bioregion’s medicinal plants. We’ll come to herbalism emphasizing traditions and indigenous wisdom to this continent and look to Eastern traditions, such as Ayurvedic Medicine, to deepen our understanding. A hands-on approach is the best for learning and working with plants, fresh and dried herbs, and herbal preparations to build our knowledge. Herbalism is a wholistic study, recognizing that nutrition, exercise, stress management, and other natural modalities offer a complete health experience. We encourage each individual to integrate their study into a personal practice to benefit daily and master the material through first-hand experience. Be empowered with the knowledge, tools, and expertise to continue the journey to natural, radiant well-being.
